I went across the sound on a ferry at Mukelteo. Somewhere on the other side, on Whidbey Island, I stopped at a State Park on the west side of what is called "south island." I can't remember the name of the park, but for desriptive purposes, I've named it Walls of Rain State Park.

At Walls of Rain State Park, was trying to hike down this trail to the beach, and when I was about halfway there, a thunderstorm hit. I sat under a huge downed tree until the worst had passed.

At Walls of Rain State Park, the beach, which is muddy, looks dark on infrared film. The seashells glow in a radiant wavelenth that only the film can see. |

These pictures were taken on Whidbey island on march 13th, 2001 with a 1936 Leica IIIc and some kind of film called Ilford 200 infrared extended film. It was a throwaway roll of film, sort of, but as it turned out, the camera, film and developer I was "testing" turned out to all be good. Thus, pictures occurred.
